From the Office of the Club President:
At the membership meeting last night, with the expected high temperatures for Saturday, it was decided to start judging at 9:30 am rather than 10 and finish by 12:30 pm rather than 1 pm – with consideration of extending the deadline for late arrivals. In addition, we are asking Clarion to open the atrium at 1:30 pm with the awards ceremony starting at 2 pm.
If you can, bring your volunteer/staff shirt from previous years. If you are new to the club, we will have a few shirts available in the “official” GOMC color. We will need help with traffic control, setup, cleanup, etc. so all are invited to help.
We believe we will have enough goody bags, but members may be asked to consider the option of not taking a goody bag. In any event, each entry will receive one dash plaque and the meal tickets.
On a hot day, there are never enough canopies, so bring what you have. A couple of extra folding tables would also be helpful. An extra cooler with ice and maybe a few bottles of water would be a good donation for the show.
Thursday night we will have the goody bag stuffing party at Russ and Bev’s house followed by a trip probably to Mexican Villa. If you want to bring a few snacks for the time we are stuffing bags, it would be appreciated.
Friday night is the pizza party at the Clarion beginning at 7. The pizza party will be followed by a cruise to Andy’s on East Sunshine.
Saturday morning, set up of the tents, driving lanes etc. will begin at 6:30 am. Come early, stay late and help with the cleanup.
